Types of Central Vacuum Hoses

Electric Hose (110V)

Carries full 110V power from the inlet valve through the hose to an electric motorized powerhead. Required for any motor-driven brush. Available in direct-connect and pigtail (wall outlet) configurations.

Standard (Non-Electric) Hose

No wiring or switches — simply plugs into the inlet valve. Relies on an automatic valve or wall switch to activate the system. Best for basic cleaning and garage/utility use. Most affordable option.

How to Choose the Right Replacement Hose

1
Check your inlet valve typeDoes your wall inlet have metal prongs inside (direct-connect) or is it a plain round opening (pigtail / standard)?
2
Check your powerhead typeAir-driven turbo brushes work with low-voltage hoses. Electric motor-driven powerheads require a full electric hose.
3
Measure your existing hoseStandard replacement lengths are 30 and 35 feet. Longer runs benefit from a Hide-A-Hose retractable system.
4
Confirm fitting sizeMost modern systems use 1-1/4" fittings. Some older units use 1-3/8". Check the end of your existing hose or call us to confirm.
